Hot Tub

Wood-Fired Hot Tub at Mutton Barn

There is something wonderfully simple about sinking into warm, wood-fired water with nothing but birdsong, big skies and Warwickshire hills for company. At Mutton Barn, our hot tub is not an add-on – it is at the heart of the experience.

A Hot Tub With a View

Set in our large, enclosed garden, the wood-fired hot tub makes the most of Mutton Barn’s elevated position on Alne Hills. By day you can gaze across the Heart of England Forest, watching buzzards circle and clouds drift over the fields. As evening falls, the sky darkens, the stars appear, and the only sounds are the crackle of the fire and the occasional call of our resident barn owls.

This is slow, countryside living at its best. No pumps humming, no harsh lighting – just warm water, fresh air and uninterrupted views.

Wood-Fired, Off-Grid & Eco-Friendly

Mutton Barn is an off-grid eco home, and the hot tub reflects that ethos. Heated by a traditional wood-fired stove, it fits seamlessly with our log-burning fire and solar-powered, eco-conscious set-up. The ritual of lighting the fire, tending it and then easing into the perfectly warmed water is all part of the charm.

We provide the logs and clear guidance on how to heat the tub safely and efficiently, so guests can enjoy the experience even if it is their first time with a wood-fired tub.

Perfect After a Day on the Trails

With the garden gate opening directly onto the Heart of England Way and the Arden Way, many guests spend their days walking miles of countryside paths. The hot tub comes into its own when you return: boots off, kettle on, then straight into the tub to soak tired legs while you relive the day’s adventures.

It is equally special after exploring nearby Alcester, Stratford-upon-Avon or Warwick. However you spend your day, the hot tub is your reward.

Space to Unwind Together

Mutton Barn sleeps up to 10 guests, and the hot tub is designed as a sociable space where family and friends can gather. With the patio, outdoor dining area and BBQ close by, it naturally becomes the hub of the garden. On cooler evenings, move between the tub and the warmth of the double-sided log fire inside, never losing sight of those countryside views.

Wildlife, Stars and Stillness

Because of our secluded setting, the hot tub offers more than just a soak. You might spot Gary and Mary, our resident muntjac deer, slipping quietly across the fields, or catch the silent sweep of a barn owl hunting at dusk. On clear nights, the lack of light pollution reveals a canopy of stars that feels a world away from city life.

Whether it is your first dip of the morning with a coffee in hand, or a final, starlit soak before bed, the wood-fired hot tub at Mutton Barn turns each day of your stay into something just a little bit magical.
